We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a busy out-of-hours team within a well-equipped veterinary hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an RVN who thrives in emergency and critical care and enjoys working in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • As part of the night team, you'll work alongside an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon, providing exceptional care for hospitalised patients and assisting with emergency cases throughout the night.
  • Caring for inpatients throughout the night
  • Preparing and assisting with emergency surgeries
  • Monitoring anaesthesia and recovering patients
  • Supporting emergency and critical care cases
  • Working alongside the twilight team to ensure smooth patient admissions, triage, and infection control
  • The hospital sees a varied and rewarding caseload, including trauma cases, toxin ingestions, blocked bladders, GDVs, caesarean sections, and many other medical and surgical emergencies.
  • Rolling rota of 4 nights on, 7 nights off, followed by 3 nights on, 7 nights off
  • Night shifts: 7:00pm – 8:30am

Requirements

  • Is a qualified and Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Works confidently in a fast-paced environment
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is calm under pressure and organised
  • Is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and animal welfare
