Salary: £23,500–£34,000 DOE Job Type: Full Time (approximately 36. 25 hours per week) About the Practice An established, independent small animal veterinary practice in South Devon is looking to recruit a Registered Veterinary Nurse & Clinical Supervisor to join its experienced and supportive team.

The practice is RCVS-accredited, an approved Veterinary Nurse Training Centre, a RWAF Silver Rabbit Friendly Clinic and an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic. The Role This is a varied and rewarding position, combining hands-on clinical nursing with the opportunity to mentor and support the next generation of veterinary nurses. You'll work alongside a knowledgeable and welcoming team, using modern equipment and facilities including: - In-house laboratory equipment for rapid blood and urine analysis - Ultrasound - Digital X-ray - Advanced patient monitoring equipment If you enjoy a busy clinical environment where your nursing skills are fully utilised and valued, this could be the perfect role.

Key Responsibilities Registered Veterinary Nurse - Admit patients for diagnostic tests, procedures and surgery - Monitor and care for hospitalised patients - Collect and process laboratory samples - Prepare theatres and equipment for surgical procedures - Prepare patients for surgery and administer medications - Assist during surgical procedures - Monitor anaesthesia and patient recovery - Run nurse consultations and post-operative appointments - Educate clients on treatment plans, preventative healthcare and post-operative care - Provide ongoing patient care, including wound management and palliative care - Dispense prescribed medications - Maintain accurate clinical records - Manage medicines, equipment and stock levels - Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the practice - Exercise and monitor inpatients as required Clinical Supervisor - Mentor and support up to two student veterinary nurses - Provide practical teaching and day-to-day guidance - Monitor and document student progress using Smart Assessor - Structure learning plans and encourage professional development - Build positive working relationships with student nurses - Attend annual standardisation workshops to maintain Clinical Supervisor status About You The successful candidate will: - Be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS - Have an up-to-date CPD record - Have at least one year's clinical experience - Be willing to attend annual Clinical Supervisor standardisation workshops - Be an excellent communicator with strong mentoring skills - Be organised, empathetic, patient and enthusiastic - Be confident working independently while maintaining professional standards - Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for travel between branches What's on Offer - Excellent work-life balance - Monday to Friday working - Shared Saturday morning rota with time off in lieu - No out-of-hours work after 7pm - 4 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays - Birthday leave - RCVS fees and VDS membership paid - Generous CPD allowance and ongoing professional development - Six-monthly development reviews - Discounted veterinary treatment - Cycle to Work scheme - Free on-site parking - Employee Assistance Programme with wellbeing support If you're an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to combine clinical nursing with mentoring and education in a supportive independent practice, we'd love to hear from you.
