Bright Leaf Recruitment - Veterinary Recruitment · Brighton, England, GB
Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) Salary: £30,000–£33,000 per annum An independent, multi-award-winning veterinary practice is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its friendly and supportive team. This opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and is primarily based at the practice's clinic near Brighton, with occasional work across its nearby coastal sites. The practice is a well-equipped village clinic featuring a consulting room, operating theatre and modern diagnostic facilities. Alongside another branch, it offers digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, an in-house IDEXX laboratory, blood pressure monitoring, microscopy and Sedivue urinalysis. The practice is committed to delivering high standards of patient care, allowing clients to build lasting relationships with the clinical team. The successful candidate will join an experienced team consisting of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses and reception staff who work collaboratively to provide exceptional first-opinion care. The role offers a varied caseload, including nurse consultations, theatre support, inpatient nursing, laboratory work, patient admissions and discharges, and maintaining clinical standards throughout the practice. There will also be opportunities to supervise work experience students and, once training practice status is achieved, provide clinical coaching to Student Veterinary Nurses. The practice welcomes applications from experienced RVNs as well as recently qualified nurses who are keen to develop their confidence in both medical and surgical nursing. Applicants should be registered with the RCVS, possess excellent communication and organisational skills, and enjoy working closely with colleagues while delivering compassionate, patient-focused care. A full-time position typically consists of 37 hours per week worked over four 9.25-hour days, although a five-day working pattern or part-time hours can also be accommodated. Full-time staff have either Tuesday or Wednesday as their regular day off and participate in a one-in-three Saturday morning rota. There are no out-of-hours responsibilities, and overtime is uncommon but paid when required. The practice is committed to supporting professional development and employee wellbeing. Nurses are encouraged to develop their clinical interests, with the autonomy to make decisions based on patient care rather than financial targets. Ongoing learning is supported through experienced colleagues, a collaborative team culture and opportunities for further qualifications. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £30,000–£33,000 per annum, depending on experience, together with four weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays, paid lunch breaks wherever possible (or payment in lieu if missed), a £1,000 annual CPD allowance, funded certificate support where appropriate, payment of RCVS fees, VDS membership and one additional professional membership if requested. Further benefits include a pension scheme, discounted veterinary care for staff pets, enhanced family-friendly policies and a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance within a supportive, independent practice.
