Location: Village Vets St Albans Part of Linnaeus Permanent | 4 nights on, 8 nights off Salary £34,297 for 33.9 hours on an annualised contract £1000 welcome bonus Accommodation is provided for the duration of your working night block, offering added convenience during your scheduled shifts. Village Vet St Albans is a well-established small animal hospital and a 24-hour emergency clinic supporting multiple practices across Hertfordshire. You will see a varied and stimulating caseload, not just routine overnight monitoring. The hospital is fully equipped with: - Full diagnostic facilities - On-site laboratory - Separate cat and dog wards - Theatre suite - 24-hour inpatient care providing continuity of treatment For those working nights, shared accommodation is available during your working block, offering practical support and added convenience. The rota 4 nights on, 8 nights off on a rolling rota. This structure provides extended time off between blocks while maintaining exposure to emergency and urgent care cases. Annualised hours: 33.9 hours per week equivalent. Your role This is a hands-on Night RVN position within the Vet-24 night team. You will: - Allocate and manage cases with a proactive, holistic approach to inpatient care under the guidance of the Veterinary Surgeon - Triage out-of-hours calls and support emergency admissions - Assist with appointments, treatments and procedures - Lead detailed nurse-to-nurse patient handovers to the day team - Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of hospital areas - Actively engage in CPD and further study relevant to emergency and critical care You will work as a Tier 2/3 RVN alongside the Veterinary Surgeon to support effective management of overnight and urgent care patients. This is an active clinical role where you will be fully involved in patient care throughout your shift.
